"Principally speaking, I call myself a recovering modernist because I am attracted to spare open minimal design and, at the same time, I love rich textured chaotic complexity. I am seduced by design that captures the hidden order inherent in everything. When design reveals that order, it can aspire to be Art." ~ Michael Cronan

For twenty-eight years, Michael Cronan has worked in design, corporate communications, packaging, print graphics, exhibits and art programs. The recipient of numerous awards from leading national and international design organizations and publications, Cronan's work is represented in the collections of the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institute, the permanent Design Collection of SFMOMA, London's Victoria & Albert Museum and was featured in the Museo Fortuny (Venice, Italy) exhibition entitled "Pacific Wave, California Graphic Design."

Cronan was one of four graphic designers featured in "In the Public Eye," the first graphic design exhibition at SFMOMA in 1993. His work is currently featured in the American Graphic Design Show mounted by the Denver Art Museum, from their permanent collection. He has spoken to design communities and judged design competitions throughout the United States, and internationally.
