What do you do when you acquire a 1942 WWII DUKW amphibious landing craft that needs a little sprucin' up? Invite a few hundred of your closest friends to throw on some work clothes, pick up an angle grinder and become a musician as local sound artists attach mics to the ginormous resonating instrument so they can feed the sound back to you. Art, Madness & Transformation
A One Day Workshop
Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This one day intensive will utilize a variety of clay exercises designed to overcome fears centered around one's creative potential. Participants will be guided in accessing their unique, "symbolic language" and encouraged to "embrace their demons" in a challenging yet supportive environment. The process will question our contemporary definitions of "beauty, sanity and truth."
This workshop is not about creating functional ceramics (i.e. cups, plates, vases...). Instead, each participant will create a 3-dimensional sculpture that will embody levels of energy that are typically unavailable to consciousness. We specifically encourage those who have never allowed themselves such an opportunity. It will be your level of openness to this workshop, not your level of inexperience, that will determine how deeply you will travel.
