"Welcome Home" Mike Egan solo exhibition
Anno Domini is proud to present a new body of work and site-specific installation by artist Mike Egan (b. 1977). In folk art tradition, Egan's artwork is full of personal and universal symbolism such as skulls, skeletons, ghosts, crosses and cats. Their significance is much deeper to him than most may think as Egan has an unusual first hand perspective on death and its relationship to life being a former funeral director and embalmer. In Egan's work we are reminded of "memento mori"...remember your mortality, for it is an inevitability for each and everyone one of us...so live well now and love your life. ~A.D.
